Hi, What is the anticipated date for VS2013 preview support for LightSpeed5. Thanks! |
We are not planning to add support for the Preview release but we are planning to add in support for VS2013 for the RC/RTM releases when they become available.

Jeremy, Checking if there are any updates for VS2013 support thanks! |
Yep, VS2013 is supported in all the current builds :) Grab an updated nightly for this.

Hi Jeremy, I have downloaded Lightspeed 4, both the developer and the nightly. The developer install mentions model designer support for vs2008, vs2010 and vs2012. The nightly only mentions model designer for vs2010. Once installed the lightspeed model opens in an xml editor. There is no light speed designer in the "Open with" dialog and there is no file template for adding a new lightspeed model to the project. The icon for the model is the correct lightspeed icon however. What do I have to do to get it working? |

Hi, Try right clicking the .lsmodel file in the solution explorer, choosing "Open With" - do you have the "LightSpeed Model" in there? If so, choose that. Also mark it as default. If it's not in that list, let me know. Kind regards, John-Daniel Trask |

I am assuming this is relating to Visual Studio 2013 support? If so you need to be using LightSpeed 5, there is no support for VS2013 in LightSpeed 4.

Thanks, will upgrade today. |

Hi, We're using LS 5 and just upgraded to Visual Studio 2013. How do I set up the Open With - to open the model? None of the exes in the Tools folder work? Thanks, Tom |

You will need to reinstall LightSpeed to get the tooling added to VS2013.

Thanks for the quick reply Jeremy. I uninstalled and re-installed from the same install I had (LightSpeed50Professional-20130919.msi) and don't see any change. Do I need a new install app? |
Yes you will need to install a newer build, we released support for Visual Studio 2013 on October the 29th of 2013 so the current store release or any nightly build after that time will have support.

You mean I have to spend another 400 bucks just to get the model designer? |
Yes to access the current builds you need an active subscription. If you have an existing subscription which has expired your best option is to renew it as this has a large discount over the new price.
