PropertyGrid and Silverlight 2.0

Hi Ivan - been a while -

I"m working on a proof of concept of our web application being re-done in silverlight 2.0.  Have you had any opportunity to play with the propertygrid in the silverlight 2.0 BETA? 

Hi Mitch.  Funny you should mention that *grin*.  I was actually looking at that just the other day.

Unfortunately Silverlight 2 is missing a lot of the fundamentals required by the property grid -- I counted about a dozen, including the lack of TreeView, ListView and ComboBox, and more infrastructural difficulties such as the lack of support for DataTemplateSelector (which is pretty much central to our ability to insert editors at runtime) and for commands (which are important for the subsidiary controls, though some of these are replaced by SL native controls of course).  I don't think these things are necessarily insurmountable, and we are certainly not ruling it out, but they do mean that porting the grid to Silverlight is not just a matter of a few tweaks and a quick recompile.  Sorry.  We're disappointed too!

Oh that truly is dissappointing...I guess we'll keep waiting for the ported version...
