Chart does not zoom correctly

I am working with the scatter and line chart controls using dates as the x axis:

The issue is when I zoom by drawing a rectangle over my data, the x axis goes crazy and does not show dates. The chart is also empty. If I remove the DateTimeScale then the system zooms fine, but of course, the x scale is not consistent. This issue also happens on a line chart.

Is this a bug? How should I be using the DateTimeAxisValueConverter?

Below is the static definition of the DateTimeScale:

<ms:DateTimeAxisValueConverter x:Key="DateTimeScale" />

Note that ms maps to xmlns:ms="http://namespaces.mindscape.co.nz/wpf"
