Working through styling the WPF propertygrid and it occurs to me that I'd love to be able to define sample data which exercises the default editor types, rather than simply displaying the default five dummy "empty" string nodes. In an ideal world, of course, I'd love to see a "DesignTimeSampleSelectedObject" sort of thing so I could define my own collection to style (perhaps in the next major revision). Failing that, some simple numeric, bool, combo options would really help when working with templates and styles in the vs2008 visual designer (or Blend if I'm feeling masochistic). Please note - this isn't a complaint at all, I'm more than happy with the control at the moment (and we have a source license so i can do this myself for internal dev too), just a friendly suggestion for consideration in future revisions. :) |

That's a cool idea. We've not done a great deal with the design-time experience for the grid. I've logged a feature request for this, but as an interim version, I've updated the design-time sample data to show a few different types (boolean, numeric, enum and string) though the selection and sample values are still hardwired into the grid -- hope this helps and feedback welcome (e.g. if it's too visually distracting having the sample data there all the time). This will be included in nightly builds dated 3 June 2009 and above, available from about 1430 GMT. |
