Hi, I have a column were the data type is varchar(MAX) but the ValidateLength set to (0, -1). When I try to save, I get an error "[column name] length must be between 0 and -1". |

Hmm, I've just tried dragging a table with a varchar(MAX) column onto the designer, and it correctly infers no length validation. Are you seeing something different? Which database are you using? Can you provide us with the CREATE TABLE script please? Thanks! In the meantime, the fix is simply to go into the Validate Length property and delete the contents. This removes all length validation from the property. |

I'm using our development database running in SQL Server 2005. I used lsgen.exe to build the objects. Here's the script: CREATE TABLE [dbo].[Machine](
and these are the fields in generated object:
#region Fields |

Thanks for the additional info. This seems to have been a situation which was handled by the designer but not by the command line tool. I have committed a fix and it will be in the 25 June nightly build, available after about 1430 GMT. |
