Hi again. When adding a new model to a new project (class library). I've set the model to generate file per type and selected fluent nhibernate. Nothing is being generated, and I've noticed a warning saying that the custom tool has failed due to an object reference not being set to an instance of an object. Please advise |

Apparently this is an issue which gets raised if your "SQL Server Data Tools" install is corrupt. Can you try installing the most recent update (you can download it here: http://msdn.microsoft.com/en-us/data/hh297027) and see if that resolves the issue for you?

Sorry Im not sure at this stage, updating the Data Tools has been the solution to this problem in the past but it would appear that Update 3 should contain the latest bits so it may well be something new. I will have to have a look at trying to reproduce the problem here and Ill update you once I have had a chance to do that.

Sorry no luck so far in reproducing this. We are also just in the process of finishing off an office move so unfortunately its going to be a few days before I can pick this one back up but Ill keep you posted once I do!

I have this issue and I just came across this thread. I followed the suggestion and installed the most recent versions of SQL Server Data Tools (though I think it was installed already. I have VS 2013 Update 3 installed. Though I just noticed I can install Update 4, hopefully that will change this. I am using the latest (non nightly) version of the designer. SingleFile is fine FilePerType gets me the following error. "The custom tool 'NHibernateModelGenerator' failed. Object reference not set to an instance of an object." Any suggestions? |

Did you ever sort out the problem with VS2013 and the error: The custom tool 'NHibernateModelGenerator' failed. Object reference not set to an instance of an object." I have run into that now.. and it is causing me alot of trouble.. :/ Need to solve it of scarpa Mindscape NHDeisgner all together. |
