You can display images as nodes but you will need to create your own templates to do so. There is a sample of custom templates included in the download -- I'd suggest you pull down the trial edition and experiment with this sample to see whether you can adapt it to do what you want (we would be happy to provide advice and assistance if you have specific questions). I am not sure what you mean by "allow user to enter text freely." The default styles allow the user to enter text into the body of a node, and we also support a Comment node type. We do not support the presence of free text on the diagram surface itself -- you would need to create a custom node (which could of course be displayed as transparent and borderless, giving the appearance of text on the diagram surface). You can create a grid-like node combining both graphics and text (including multiple pieces of text). (I assume when you say "lines" you mean graphics internal to a node -- we don't support sub-nodes with nested connections between them.) Again the trial includes a Custom Node sample which you could use as a starting point. Hope this helps -- we would definitely suggest grabbing the trial and doing some quick prototyping to prove your specific requirements. |
