Hi community, I just installed Lightspeed 3.0 (Trial) in a fresh installed XP SP3 on VMWare 7.0 using VisualStudio 2008. After that I tried to follow the "Getting started"-video. But I can't find the templates for the Mindscape - maybe I need to install the templates manually as I am using a German version of VS 2008. Any hints? Thanks in advance and all the best for 2010. Hi Matthias, Thank you for your feedback. There is a current issue with integrating the German version of Visual Studio 2008. There was a thread about this earlier which will help you get the templates installed correctly for your version. Apologies for not having fixed this issue already, it crops up occasionally but we should fix the problem once and for all. The thread with some guidence on getting integrated with the German version is available here: http://www.mindscape.co.nz/forums/Thread.aspx?ThreadID=1282 I hope that helps, John-Daniel Trask |

Hi John, that hits the spot ... the Problem still seems to be the directory 1031 which should be the corect one. Moving the .ZIP file from 1033 to 1031 and reinitializing the VS2008 enables the template. Thank you for the reference. Kind regards, |

HI again, sorry - but now the whole application crashes after loading the first screens of the model designer. It makes not difference using VB.NET or C#.NET nor using forms or command control application. Can I trace something to approach the problem? Kind regards, Matthias |

I've tried to reproduce this (admittedly on a French rather than a German copy of VS2008) but it seems to be working okay for me. Could you rerun devenv /installvstemplates and devenv /setup just to be sure? You may be able to get some info by running devenv /log -- this will produce an ActivityLog.xml file in your application data directory (exact location will vary depending on OS), Microsoft / VisualStudio / 9.0 subdirectory. This isn't usually very informative though... Can you verify that there is no longer a copy of LightSpeedModel.zip under the 1033 directory (only in the 1031 directory)? Can you also check this under the ItemTemplateCache directory? Can you describe at what stage the crash happens -- immediately after you select LightSpeed Model and click OK? Is there an error message or does Visual Studio just disappear? Here is some info from another German user which may help: https://www.mindscape.co.nz/forums/Post.aspx?ThreadID=1800&PostID=5278 |

Hi, After installation of the fix and rebooting the machine I works so I could create the first entity within the modeller - seems to work now. Thanks and cheers Matthias |
