Vertical axes infinite loop problem

We have noticed that when we activate vertical axes for some charts, the BuildChart procedure in the WpfElements code re-triggers an update of itself again and again and again so it sort of goes into an infinite loop and thus hangs the application.

Unfortunately, we haven't been able to reproduce this in a repro project yet.

Apologies for the issue here. To help me look into this please:

• provide a screenshot of the frozen application showing the chart.
• Send the stack trace of any exceptions that are occurring.
• Does either your X or Y axes enable text wrapping on the axis title?
• If you set the MajorTickSpacing property of each Y axis to an appropriate hard coded value, is the problem solved?

To answer your questions:

• provide a screenshot of the frozen application showing the chart. : There is no visual difference from when it does not freeze
• Send the stack trace of any exceptions that are occurring. : No exceptions are thrown.
• Does either your X or Y axes enable text wrapping on the axis title? : I tried to disable wrapping but it didn't work.
• If you set the MajorTickSpacing property of each Y axis to an appropriate hard coded value, is the problem solved? : We already do this manually. Also tried to use the automatic MajorTickSpacing, but it didn't work.

Some new information regarding this issue
When we go into Vertical Axes - mode we have set the visibility of the primary axis to collapsed. I tried a different approach and set the width of the primary axis to 0 instead and now the application does not hang any more.

What are your thoughts on this solution? Should we still try to find the cause on why it hangs when we set the visibility to collapsed?

Thanks for the answers, and for pointing out the collapsed axis, that may help me solve this issue later. I'll put fixing this on hold for now though, as setting the width of an axis to 0 is the recommended approach to hiding a Y axis in comparison to collapsing the axis. This is because if the axis is still plotting data, the axis needs a height in order to convert logical and pixel locations. Collapsing an axis causes both the with and height to be 0. Please let me know on the off chance that you run into the issue again.
