Hi, Any tips for getting the property grid working in 2010? I'm still running the RC, but the RTM edition will be available for download on the 12th, so we're getting pretty close. I'm experiencing a couple of issues. The main one is the license exceptions, which aren't resolved following the FAQ. I'm also unable to add the control to the toolbox as it seems to think there's no useable controls in any of the bin files. I thought I'd had this working in 2010 in the past, but can't seem to get it going now. Any ideaS? |

Hello Ed, I've just tried this on my copy of VS2010 (RC, Win7, x86) and I can't reproduce the problems you describe. The licence is compiling correctly and allowing me to run the program, and I'm able to add the controls to the Toolbox and drag them onto the visual designer. (We don't yet auto-add the controls to the VS2010 Toolbox, so I'm doing Choose Items > Browse, but that's working okay.) So I'm not entirely sure what the problem might be. A repro project might help us investigate the licensing exceptions, but probably wouldn't help with the toolbox issue. One thing you could try is deleting or renaming the .Design.dll -- this is working fine for me, but they did change designer integration between 2008 and 2010 so it's possible there might be a lurking issue there. Also you could try running devenv /resetsettings to clear the toolbox cache. |

Hi Ivan, I went through everything you said, no dice, still wasn't working. I kept trying deleting/readding/moving files for the next 30 mins or so, now it works. Unfortuantely I have no idea what specifically I did, but it is now working... |
