Hi I'd like to request for an update of the reference to MVC from 2.0 to 3.0 in the LightSpeed.Web assembly. As for now this causes difficult to track issues when deploying an MVC 3.0 web role to Windows Azure. regards /håkan |

Hi håkan, What issues are you running into? The binding redirect that gets popped into your config file by Visual Studio when you create a MVC 3 project will cover the only issue we are aware of which would be a binding failure so Im assuming this is something else? We need to continue to target MVC 2 as a minimum version to allow it to be used with Visual Studio 2008 so we are not planning on changing this currently.

Hi Jeremy I spoke with a colleague of yours yesterday in the chat and we came to the conclusion that the problem I'm experiencing is due to an issue when running WebRoles in Full IIS mode on WindowsAzure. Gonna try the suggestions in this post today and see how it works out: TypeLoadException even with a bindingRedirect Thx4 all .håkan |

I'm running multiple sites on Azure in Full IIS mode without problem. I think that MSDN forum post gave you bad information. Check the OTHER web.config hiding in the Views directory. I didn't have any problems with MVC3 (or MVC4) but I did have problems with SQL Azure transient errors. I wrote a LightSpeed.ConnectionStrategy to implement retry. I sent it to Ivan for review/inclusion. More info: |

Has there been any work done with the LightSpeed.ConnectionStrategy for Azure? I have a few apps in production and this bites me a few times a week. |

I'll resend my code to Mindscape tonight for review. Just out of curiosity Joe, what errors are you seeing? 10053/54? |

I don't have the logs in front of me but it is the transport error since one of my apps are connecting through the firewall. |

@chadw - Just a ping to see if you have sent this through? Have not seen anything come in over the weekend :)
