Hello, I tried to update my NH designer from inside VS, but it ends up with an error because your SSL certificate is out of date. Thanks for your help. |

Hi, Could you provide a little more information about that? What error does it give you and when? I've just tried updating on my home machine and received no messages about a certificate failure so any extra information would be appreciated in tracking down the problem! John-Daniel |

Hello John-Daniel, I start in VS2010 the Extension Manager go to Updates and press 'Update' for 'Mindscape NHibernate Model Designer'. After downloading progress the Windows message with "Digital Sinature Mismatch' pops up. One look inside, I see that the used SSL certificate provided for Mindscape Limited is only valid from 16.03.2011 till 16.03.2012 Klaus |

Hi Klaus, Indeed we discovered the version on the Visual Studio Gallery was signed with a now out of date certificate. We've updated with a new release we were planning already so it should update seamlessly now. You can read about the 2.1 release here: http://www.mindscapehq.com/blog/index.php/2012/04/26/whats-new-in-nhibernate-designer-2-1/ You can update via the Extension Manager. Thanks for drawing our attention to this and hopefully this should resolve the issue for you. John-Daniel |

Hello John-Daniel, now I got another certificate error (see attached screenshot). Do I really have to uninstall my installed version and loose my settings? Regards, Klaus |

Hi Klaus, It looks like you will need to uninstall the previous version. Don't worry, settings won't get lost (in fact I don't think we even have that many settings for the NHibernate Designer). As long as you don't delete your designer file in your project you should be fine. I hope that helps & sorry for the confusion around this -- it's the first we've seen of this oddity also (so much for trying to be good developers and digitally sign our VSIXs!) John-Daniel |
