It sure would be nice to have a little designer support for simpleDB. Like creating domains that dont exist when you click "Update Database" and Drag support from Server Explorer if you have SimpleDB Management Tools installed
also when I click "Update From Source" i get a dll error where it is trying to load the same dll that is already loaded from another file location. Perhaps a conflict with Simple DB Management Tools? it was a very long error conflicting file A with file B. The were both awssdk.dll (the same version diff locations). |

You should have drag support from Server Explorer if you have SimpleDB Management Tools installed. What happens when you try? Do you get the DLL error? Let us know and we'll look into it. We skipped "update database" support in the designer because there wasn't really anything we could do except creating domains (everything else the designer does is around columns and data types, which doesn't apply to SimpleDB). Also, because SimpleDB doesn't have "columns" until there's data in them, it could be a bit confusing (e.g. if you created an entity with 3 properties, clicked Update Database to create the domain, then clicked Update From Source, it would offer to delete those 3 properties from the model!). Still, I can see how this would still be handy. I'll add it to the wishlist -- thanks for the feedback! |
