I have my global settings to not minify/compile any type of file. It seems tho that this isn't recognized at all. If I create a new file, or rename an existing file. Save the file. It compiles and minifies the file. I have to manually go into Mindscape settings and turn off the file manually for each file. |

Are you adding the new file using the Add New File dialog? Also can you confirm the project file is updating (you are saving it with the updated settings). We have heard of issues around these not applying correctly but we are yet to track down what exactly is triggering this as creating a new file always triggers the setting updates in our tests here. As a point of clarification in case its not clear, these toggles act as a "default" for files created using the new file dialog, and not a "global override" while they are active in case that is your expectation. The defaults are used to seed the project level settings which then determine what occurs for the files after that. Renaming a file should carry across the settings that are already in place. The settings themselves are stored in the project file so you need to make sure that this is being updated to store the settings otherwise compile/minify on will be applied by default.

I'm globally setting the Workbench settings in: Tools > Options > Web Workbench If I add a new file either by the Add New File dialog, or pasting a new file in. Or if i rename a file. It will generate the compiled/minified version still. Unless of course those setting's aren't there to turn off compiling, in which case there NEEDS to be a setting to turn this stuff off globally. |

Hi Phillip, We have added a set of new options to disable compilation and control which files are output for each of the file types and these are now in the current nightly builds.

Hey Jeremy, Thanks! I'll grab the nightly in the morning and give it a whirl. Phill |

I can't download the nightly build. Tried on my server in Sydney and at home/work in Singapore. Gets to about 8mb before it just dies off and stops... Amazon is just too slow. I get similar issues with RavenDB. |

Hi Phillip, We're going to be looking at moving things onto cloudfront to help things. In the meantime we are at the mercy of S3 for speed (S3 does have the nice ability to provide time bombed links which is handy for full downloads to stop people handing out links to our full software!). Beyond that, I suspect that there is either an issue with Amazon or the connection out of the States to this part of the world as I've been getting slow and/or truncated downloads all day here in New Zealand. Nighty build seems to be working great. Paste files in, add new files, no longer need to set them to not compile manually. Thanks a lot! |
