I am trying to drag and drop existing tables from an sql serve ce database onto the designer in visual studio 2015 but can't seem to do it. I have added an sql server ce 4 (simple provider by erikEJ) connection but there is no option to drag. The provider I am using comes from the SQL Server Ce Toolbox extension. Is there another provider I should be using? If so how do I register it? |

Sorry, we only supported the built in Visual Studio provider for CE so we don't understand that provider as a drag/drop source. I believe Microsoft silently removed support for SDF's so that removes the drag/drop capability we had for CE. If you have an earlier version of VS still installed you should be able to use that to build up your initial model and then use the two-way sync to pull in changes after that.
