Just wondering if the LightSpeed product is dead.
From my perspective, it's not worth renewing the licence. It looks really uncertain now if there is a bug or we need support. It seems ever since Raygun came along and Ivan left that this product got seriously sidelined. |

Hi Exm, It's not dead, but it's certainly in a low active development state. We still undertake work on the product in terms of supporting new versions of Visual Studio and making performance improvements to the querying engine. We use LightSpeed extensively internally and therefore do invest in it. We aren't however making massive feature changes. We did push LightSpeed 5.5 out recently in the store, which includes support for Visual Studio 2015. We didn't change the major version as it doesn't include any breaking API changes. We've taken this approach before Raygun was released, but it's true that Raygun has become a substantial success for the business and therefore is the focus of much of the effort. We use LightSpeed with Raygun, which is exactly where there are some improvements flowing in under the covers as we improve it for the scale that Raygun operates at. If you don't require Visual Studio 2015 support at this stage, then I would not worry renewing at this time. I hope that helps, John-Daniel Trask |

"Low active development state" should not mean ignoring and not fully supporting the product for users who have already purchased. |

I've been waiting 21 days for acknowledgement of my last post... It actually has me starting to do research into whether or not we can achieve the same functionality with Entity Framework. When we first started with LightSpeed, the support was absolutely amazing! Unfortunately, that has been waning. |

I'm at the same point as akeshgupa - I have used lightspeed in my past projects and recently renewed the license. A mistake as I know realize because "Low active development state" means certainly dead or at least I don't see why to further use a product where little to no effort in keeping it up to date is being made. |
