When I added a new table to my database and then clicked on the background of the model designer and selected "Updated the model from source", no changes were picked up. The message displayed was "Selected entities are up to date" even though I hadn't selected any entities to update. To get the changes detected I had to add a new entity with the same name as my new table and then retry. |

This is by design, because we learned from experience that many users have existing databases with dozens or hundreds of tables in them, only some of which relate to the LightSpeed application. It would be a performance and usability killer. We are considering whether we can do something for 'small updates' e.g. if there are only half a dozen tables which are not already in the model then offer them, but this is unlikely to make it into LightSpeed 4. |

Ok, I was wondering if it was a bug or not. In future maybe you could have an option such as "Add new entities from source" that pops up a dialog with a list of tables in the database that the user can select from. |
