Hi, Firstly, I like NH Designer for the reasons: Its simple. Its easy. So nearly 12 months on, I'm wondering what the roadmap is for this product? For it to continue to have value (for me, anyway) here are my thoughts:
There's is potential! ..and sometimes I wish I had the sourcecode :P However, I'm currently not really feeling satisfied about renewing my license, I had some hopes the product was going to evolve a little further in the 12 months. I like that the NH Designer isn't bloated and doesn't try to do too much. However, having some flexibility with the templates and help with DB migrations would sure come in handy. Regards, Brendan |

Hello Brendan, Fantastic timing on your post - we had a meeting last week regarding the NHibernate Designer and what improvements we would be making for the next major release (beyond fix ups and improvements based on user feedback). We often look to the community a lot for what they want to see in future versions and then try and add some things that will surprise and delight users on top of that. Your requests don't sound unreasonable so we'll take them into consideration. If you have any other wishes or requests please post them now. We will look to post a road map later this week on the blog. Thansk again, John-Daniel Trask |

Hi John-Daniel, Most likely its the emails reminding me to renew the subscription that prompted the feedback, so I'm just responding to the features that would be the most value to me. One other thing I'd like to see is the designer render the templates to separate files, instead of one file thats 10000 lines long.
Apart from that, I'll be waiting with anticipation to see what you guys come up with.

Hi Brendan, In case you missed it we have blogged about some of the features on the roadmap (not all, we'll hopefully still have some surprises) but many of them relate to what you've requested: http://www.mindscapehq.com/blog/index.php/2011/08/04/nhibernate-designer-2-roadmap-and-special/ You may also wish to take part in the special offer as it will be cheaper than the renewal.
