I installed LightSpeed and created a new project in VS2012, I followed the instructions to add a new item / template and i do not see LightSpeed listed anywhere. What should I do next? Thanks Larry Meadows |

Hi Larry, Can you confirm which version of LightSpeed you are using? And what project type are you working with? You should see the LightSpeed model template under the All Items or the Data items.

I think I can help with this one. I have installed vs 2012 and the lightspeed 4.0 for test on my tablet pc. that worked because I had 2012 first and then lightspeed. start the lightspeed installer again, click "Change" and see if the 2012 designer is crossed out or not .. if it is crossed out (likely) the click it and select install and run the installer. after that all should be good ... worked for me regards gmd |

I checked and it was not crossed out, I reselected / enable all features and reinstalled LightSpeed, Still I do not see it listed anywhere. I Have a windows form app. I right click in the project / solution and select Add New Item.. I was expecting to see Lightspeed Template somewhere in here but I do not. Am I looking in the correct place? Thanks Larry |

Hi Larry, On my installation the template is down the bottom of the list when working with a WinForms project. If you select Help/About can you check that "LightSpeed Designer for Visual Studio 2012" is listed. And then check that you have a LightSpeedModel.zip installed in the ItemTemplates directory for Visual Studio. e.g. C:\Program Files (x86)\Microsoft Visual Studio 11.0\Common7\IDE\ItemTemplates\CSharp\Data\LightSpeedModel.zip Note: It is installed for both CSharp and VisualBasic.

Just to sanity check, what edition of Visual Studio 2012 do you have (Professional, Ultimate, etc). It won't work with Express since Microsoft prohibits extensions for the Express edition. Just thought I'd check! John-Daniel Trask |

I have VS 2012 Ultimate. The image above helped thanks. I verified that the Zip is locate in both places. I got it working , by mistake lol. At first Light Speed was only showing up under the section of Add New Items ( it was not showing up under any main template section like C# or VB ). What happened Is I installed a 2nd product, rebooted my computer and went into VS 2012. I opened my sample project and then selected add new item and there it was as pretty as you please. Thanks for all the help. Larry Meadows http://www.TinyTapApps.com |
