Dear Sir/Madam, I'm wondering if I can use LightSpeed 4 with other data providers than the ones that comes with it. Specifically, I want to know if I can keep using my purchased data providers from Devart.

We don't support the Devart providers, and we don't currently have a way for users to create their own adapters for such providers. We'd be interested to know your use case for combining LightSpeed with Devart. Is it that the Devart provider for your database is faster than the 'normal' provider, or are there features of the Devart providers that you want to keep taking advantage of? |

Actually, there are several features that the counterpart doesn't have, as you can see in their web site. You can take for example, dotConnect for MySQL Pro, which is one of the providers we use from such company, and is more cheaper than buying a non-GPL-ed version of MySQL Connector, since we're not going to open up our code.

We don't currently support the DevArt providers, and we have no current plans to add DevArt provider support. Sorry! |
