Mindscape Powers Tech Community
Wellington, NZ, October 1st, 2012 – Mindscape, a leading vendor of quality tools for software developers, have this month signed on to sponsor a range of community events taking place across the world. Mindscape has been active in the sponsorship of technology user groups and events since the company was founded in 2007, and this year has seen this sponsorship grow considerably. Over the next four months, Mindscape will be supporting a range of different technical events, all with the common theme of bringing people together to learn from their peers, gain knowledge from experts in the industry, and share and create projects.
Supporting the community has always been in the blood of Mindscape, as the company was founded with a vision to revolutionise the way people develop software, and help them be effective and more skilled developers. The founders themselves have received recognition from Microsoft for their involvement in the New Zealand tech community; one is a Microsoft Regional Director, the other a Microsoft Most Valued Professional.
“Our company values the relationship that we have with the wider technical community. We've experienced first-hand the benefits of user groups, having developers who are keen to learn more available to talk with and the great things that happen when there is a strong technical community around you”, said Mindscape co-founder John-Daniel Trask of their efforts to support community events. Trask has just returned from a trip around several US cities, where he spoke at user groups and shared his knowledge and advice.
In October, Mindscape are helping the Los Angeles Code Camp to run its annual peer-learning based event, and contributing to the third annual Seattle Give Camp – a non-profit support event. October will also include sponsorship of Code Mania, a New Zealand based event. For November, sponsored events lined up include the Ann Arbor Install Fest, and the JavaScript Saturday event being held in Dallas. Sponsorship for these events is a combination of monetary donations and prizes for raffles.
Mindscape’s user group sponsorship has also seen rapid growth this year, with over 65 technical user groups signed up and increasing swiftly. Sponsorship of these user groups includes contributing to the cost of running their monthly meetings
